No naxal threat in Mysore range: Official

Mysore, June 27 (UNI) The Southern range IGP R P Sharma today said naxal activity was not reported in any of the five districts under this range but all precautionary measures would be taken against such activities.

Participating in the meet the press programme organised by the Mysore District Journalists Association here he said that heritage centres like Shravanabelagola, Belur and Halebeedu were being given additional security security following terrorist attacks on temples in the recent past.

To streamline traffic movement in accident prone areas the police had identified about 130 such spots. Removing traffic bottlenecks would be given priority. To bring down the rate of road accidents the police would create traffic awareness among motorists in five districts of Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagara Hassan and Kodagu, he added.
