Minister asks officials to provide jobs through small industry

Chennai, Jun 27 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Power and Rural Industries Minister Arcot N Veerasamy today directed the officials to provide employment to at least three lakh people per year through the small industry sector.

Speaking at a review meeting here last evening, he said the general managers of the 30 District Industrial Centres should take a pledge to begin providing jobs from today to at least three lakh people.

The Rural Industries Department should provide job opportunities to ten per cent of the total population to prevent dejected jobless youth from taking a wrong path, an official release said here today.
