Manipur highways in pathetic state
Imphal, Jun 27 (UNI) National Highways 39 and 53 were in a bad state due to sporadic rainfall since past few days.
Passengers and transporters were facing great hardship as the National Highway from Imphal to Mao in Manipur was full of potholes and landslides causing problems to the traffic movement.
Officials said road maintenance in hilly areas was difficult due to frequent rain or any other natural calamities. However works were on to repair the highways as soon as possible.
MET officials said the state experienced a rainfall of 20 mm in last 24 hours. The maximum temperature so far recorded was around 30.2 degree Celsius and minimum stood around 21 degree Celsius.
The precarious conditions of the road has caused great hardships to the passengers commuting in the area.
