Man arrested in connection with NRI's murder

Rajkot, June 27 (UNI) Police today arrested Manish Savsani, a Rajkot-based member of the Swadhiyay Pariwar and one of the main suspects in the murder of NRI Pankaj Trivedi.

According to police, Manish was admitted to a private nursing home here after he had complained of severe chest pain on Sunday afternoon.

He was picked up by the Ahmedabad police immediately after he was discharged from the hospital as his health improved this afternoon, hospital sources said.

Savsani is also an accused in the 2003 case of assault on London-based NRI and ex-member of Swadhyay Parivar, Vinu Sachaniya, police said.

Earlier, Savsani had been interrogated by the Ahmedabad police.

Trivedi had stated that he had been receiving threats from some Parivar members after he exposed irregularities in its functioning.

Savsani was one of the 30 Swadhyay Parivar members who had been named by the US-based Trivedi before he was beaten to death by some unidentified men on June 15 in Ahmedabad.
