Jamshedpur, Jun 27 (UNI) Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today demanded implementation of Centre's 15-point minority welfare schemes in Jharkhand.

To ensure extension of such schemes here, the party has urged state governor Syed Sibte Razi to look after the matter.

In a statement, JMM's central committee secretary Nasar Firdausi said he was sceptical of the intention of the BJP-led Arjun Munda government here as it might overlook the welfare of the Muslim community.

He said if the programmes were implemented, the problems of education and employment of the community would be solved.

The JMM leader also threatened to launch agitation if the Jharkhand government adopted any dilly-dally attitude to implement the programme.

Dr Fidausi also demanded to introduce pension scheme and gratuity for the teaching and non-teaching staff in the minority colleges in the state. He urged the state government to give Urdu the status of second official language in the state.
