Jayshree Tea aims at acquisition opportunities in Assam

Kolkata, Jun 27 (UNI) B K Birla controlled Jayshree Tea and Industries Ltd is looking at opportunities to acquire tea gardens in Assam.

''We have earmarked Rs 50 crore for acquisition opportunities in tea gardens in Assam,'' Jayshree Tea's managing director D M Jain told reporters here.

The company is also trying to increase production of orthodox teas in Assam, Jain said in the sidelines of the company's annual general meeting.

''Jayshree Tea is expecting the exports in the current year to be in the region of Rs 30 crore against Rs 25 crore last year,'' he said.

Jayshree's call centre in Salt Lake is making losses and the company is trying to make it viable by increasing the number of seats, he said.
