Jagannath Rath Yatra in Surat ends peacefully

Surat, June 27 (UNI) The Jagannath Rath Yatra organized here as part of the Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra festival ended peacefully at various places in the city.

There were four Yatras-- from Pandesara, Katargam, Nanpura area and last one starting from the Iskcon temple in Rander.

The Yatras began after 1500 hrs and thousands of devotees thronged the streets to catch a glimpse of it.

Elaborate security arrangements were made in the city for the Yatra.

''No untoward incident has been reported so far,'' sources in the city police control room informed.
