Incessant rains affect rail, road traffic in Mumbai
Mumbai, June 27 (UNI) Incessant rains since last night, threw the city life out of gear with the local trains as well as road traffic being affected.
Water logging was also reported in some of the low-lying areas like the Andheri subway, Milan subway in Western suburbs and other parts affecting the road traffic as the rains continued to lash Mumbai and its suburbs.
The BMC Disaster Management control room sources said local trains of Western as well as Central railway were running five to 10 minutes behind schedule.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast spells of rain or thundershowers in the city and its suburbs in the next 24 hours.
The IMD has also warned of heavy-to-very heavy rainfall in North-South Konkan belt and Goa in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the rainfall recorded at Colaba and Santacruz since the onset of monsoon, was 460.8 mm and 360.2 mm respectively.
