Hyundai Electronics aims over Rs 1000 cr business

Kolkata, Jun 27: Hyundai Electronics India Ltd is eyeing over Rs 1000 crore business in 2006, its Assistant General Manager (Sales) Shivaji Mohinta said here today.

''In 2005 Hyundai India clocked a business of about Rs 600-650 crore, '' Mohinta said.

The company is targetting Rs 100 crore business from eastern India, he said.

In 2005 the eastern region contributed Rs 45 crore, he said.

Hyundai Electronics started its operations in India in September 2004 with flat TVs and added ACs and DVD players to its product line last year.

Hyundai Electronics, which has come up with special promotions on May 09, 2006, to catch the world cup football fever sold 12,500 units of flat TVs in eastern India till date, Mohinta said.

''We are expecting at least 15 per cent growth in flat TV sales this year, '' he added.

Flat TVs account about 75 per cent of the company's total business, AC contributes about 15 per cent and the rest 10 per cent is being contributed by DVDs, he said.
