Four of family shot dead
Biharsharif, Jun 27 (UNI) Four members of a family were shot dead at Srinagar village under Silao police station in Nalanda district late last night.
District Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar said that more than 25 armed activists of an extremist organisation attacked the residence of Ramjee Manjhi and opened fire on his family members killing four of them on the spot.
The victims were Ramjee's wife Rajmania Manjhi(35), daughters Laxmi Devi(14) and Satia Devi(10) and son Ranjan Manjhi (12).
Motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained, Mr Kumar added.
Pappu Manjhi, and another of his son sustained injuries in the incident. He is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
