Excise sub-inspector convicted

Hyderabad, June 27 (UNI) The Principal Special Judge for ACB cases here has convicted and sentenced former sub-inspector of prohibition and excise of Manthani mandal in Karimnagar district to undergo rigorous imprisonment for one year on various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The Judge also imposed a fine of Rs 2000 on V Subhash or in default to suffer two months simple imprisonment.

The accused was trapped by the ACB officials in December 1999, when he accepted a bribe of Rs 2000 from the complainant to do an official favour, a release said here today.
