Best Bakery: Court extends Sehrunissa's bail

Mumbai, June 27: A sessions court here today extended the bail of Best Bakery case prime witness-turned perjury accused Zahira Sheikh's mother - Sehrunissa till June 30.

The bail to Sehrunissa was extended by Additional Sessions Judge Abhay Thipsay.

Earlier, Sheikh family's counsel Umesh Deshpande told UNI that Zahira and her family would soon challenge the session's court order of holding them guilty of perjury in the re-trial of the infamous case, by moving an appeal in Bombay High Court.

The sessions court had earlier sentenced them to three months' rigorous imprisonment alongwith a fine of Rs 500 each.

Meanwhile, the court is awaiting a report from a Government probationary officer on the nature and conduct of Zahira's brother Nasibullah, before passing an order on him in the perjury case, Mr Deshpande said.
