Congress concerned over scuffle between Minister and MLA

Patna, June 27 (UNI) The Bihar Congress today expressed concern over the scuffle between Sports Minister Janardan Singh Sigriwal and JD(U) MLA Ram Pravesh Rai at Chapra and described it as an indication of poor law and order situation in the state.

Talking to mediapersons here, chief spokesman of the party Kripa Nath Pathak said it was the first incident in the history of post- Independence era that a Minister was publicly manhandled by an MLA at public place yesterday.

''Police remained a mute spectator during the whole drama,'' he added.

He alleged that some people holding high position in the government were encouraging criminal elements to take law into their hands which had rendered the whole law and order situation in the state as a mockery.

The State government should take stringent action against the disturbing elements irrespective of their high positions or party affiliations, he demanded.

'' Is it a good governance or the government of criminals ? '' the Congress leader put a poser to the NDA government.
