Computer engineer held on charges of pornography
Tiruchirapalli, June 27 (UNI) The police arrrested a computer engineer on charges of misusing his browsing centre for alleged pornographic activities at Mallikaipuram here last night.
Talking to reporters, Inspector General of Police, central zone, M S Jaffar Sait said N Liyakath Ali, 30, used to offer his women customers soft drinks and chocolates which reportedly contained sedative substances.
Mr Jaffer added that Ali allegedly used to videograph obscene postures of the customers who were under the influence of the sedatives. Such pornographic photos were converted into VCDs to be sold in the market.
After getting reports of such illegal activities, a team of police kept a close watch on Ali and finally made the arrest last evening, Mr Jaffer added.
Mr Jaffer also said the accused used to allegedly screen such CDs in his another centre at Srirangam and charged Rs 15 from the viewers. An investigation was underway, he added.
