Civil Surgeon and two doctors arrested

Madhepura, June 27 (UNI) Civil Surgeon and two doctors were arrested today by a team of Rajasthan police for allegedly issuing fake certificate to a college teacher.

Police said a sleuth of crime branch of Railway Protection Force(RPF) arrested civil surgeon Dr Devendra Kumar, assistant civil surgeon Dr D P Gupta and Dr Silwant Singh from their offices.

Later, they were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate of Madhepura for seeking transit demand of the accused.

A medical board comprising civil surgeon and these two doctors had issued the medical certificate of hearing impairment to Vishwanath Viveka, a teacher of local BNNV college.

On the basis of the said certificate, the teacher had demanded concession on Railway tickets while at Kota in Rajsthan. Suspecting foul play, the concerned employee of the Kota railway station got the teacher arrested.

Civil Surgeon Dr Devendra Kumar however defended his observation in the certificate declaring the college teacher a hearing impaired.
