Centre to introduce food processing bill in monsoon session
Hyderabad, Jun 27 (UNI) Association of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) President Anil K Agarwal today said that the union government would introduce a Bill for food processing in the Parliament during the next monsoon session.
Speaking to newspersons here, he said the draft bill, which was being prepared by the ASSOCHAM was submitted to the government recently.
The objective of the bill was to encourage the food processing industry on a largescale in the country.
Stating that the Bill would provide an opportunity to attract more domestic and international investments in food processing, Mr Agarwal said the Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) would also be invited in the country in the areas of food processing and exports.
