Car bomb explodes in Iraq's Kirkuk, 3 dead

KIRKUK, Iraq, June 27 (Reuters) - A car bomb exploded in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk today, killing at least three people, police said.

Police Brigadier Adel Zein al-Aabeddine also said 21 people were wounded.

Police said they were looking into reports that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber.

The attack in the ethnically divided oil centre of Kirkuk came two days after Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki unveiled a national reconciliation plan aimed at tackling the Sunni Arab insurgency and easing sectarian tensions.
