Bharat Electronics Ltd eyes Rs 10000 cr turnover
Machilipatnam (AP), Jun 27: Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) is gearing up to achieve a turnover of Rs 10,000 crore by 2011-12.
A spokesman for the company said the turnover was expected to achieved by leveraging various opportunities, including tapping local manufacturing content.
BEL hoped to achieve a turnover of Rs 5,000 crore by 2007-08 from its nine units in the country through improved business processes.
It recorded the highest-ever turnover of Rs 3,561 crore during 2005-06, an increase of 11 per cent over 2004-05.
The company bagged a Rs 126 crore order from the army for a CDMA-based communication network, against stiff competition.
For the first time, BEL bagged a contract to set up a satellite communication network in Nigeria at a cost one million US Dollar, he said.
The network will be utilised by the Nigerian Government to provide services like passport verification and health insurance applications.
