New Delhi, June 27 (UNI) The Supreme Court today directed that the attachment order passed against the Delhi-based Skipper Construction allegedly involved in a multi-crore fraud shall continue till further orders.

The applicant DDA today told the vacation bench comprising Justices A R Lakshmanan and Altamas Kabir that the task of registration of sale deeds in favour of about 400 allottees of flats was yet to be completed by the respondent company which had reportedly defrauded hundreds of buyers of flats and therefore the attachment order must continue.

Deadline for completing the task of transferring the ownership of flats to the buyers was to be completed by June 30 and order of attachment against the Skipper construction was also expiring on June 30.

The apex court had ordered the attachment of assets and properties of the respondent company owned by late Tejwant Singh who had allegedly defrauded the buyers of their hard earned money by selling one flat to more than one purchaser.

The DDA plea for extension of the attachment order was vehemently opposed by counsel for the Skipper, Manoj Goel who contended that DDA was adopting armtwisting tactics and the company had already completed the task of getting sale-deeds registered in the name of purchasers and there was no need to extend the attachment orders.

A Rs 50 lakh cheque given by the company to the Registrar General of the apex court under the Supreme Court orders to refund the money of defrauded buyers when presented foe encashment had bounced and the bench headed by Justice P B Sawant was so infuriated that the court summoned all family members of Tejwant Singh including his wife, sons and daughter to send them to jail if they fail to deposit the amount in the court. The case is pending in the court since 1993.
