AP Govt withholds pension of DIC GM

Hyderabad, June 27 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has imposed a penalty on an official by fully withholding pension and gratuity following conviction by the Additional Special Judge for ACB cases here.

The Judge sentenced P V Raja Ratnam, General Manager of District Industries Centre (DIC) to undergo rigorous imprisonment for two years and imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 for offences under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The judge also ordered him to undergo simple imprisonment in default of pay the fine amount.

The Official was trapped in July 1992 by the officials of ACB when he accepted a bribe of Rs 3,000 from the owner of a silk unit for doing official favour, a release said here today.
