Another accused in murder of CITU activists arrested: Police
Chamba, June 27 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Police today claimed that it had arrested a contractor from Punjab for his involvement in the murder of three CITU workers on the night of June 13, taking the total number of arrested people to five.
Chamba DSP D K Chaudhary said Karan Salaria was arrested from Pathankot after several raids at various places in Punjab.
Earlier, police had claimed they had arrested four people for their involvement in the murder of three workers who were first beaten by iron rods and sticks and later thrown into the Satluj River.
The arrested people have been identified as Gurcharan alias Shammi, Balwinder alias Modi, Harjinder Singh alias Gill and Charanjeet Singh, besides another person, identified as Gurnam Singh, had also been detained for interrogation.
Mr Chaudhary said his arrest would help the police in solving the murder of three CITU workers who were protesting the non-implementation of labour laws by a construction company executing a project.
