State Minister meets experts to discuss development
Midnapore, Jun 26 (UNI) West Bengal Paschimanchal Unayan Minister Susanta Ghosh today met experts from Indian Iinstitute of Technology (IIT) and high-level officials of five districts here for framing an action plan for development of these Maoist dominated areas.
"In all 14 sectors have been identified for development of the area under the Parishad. 2132 villages have been identified as most backward areas and it will be given more emphasis for development," he said.
"Once the Action Plan is prepared in September this year it will be sent to the Planning Commission for proper funding," Ghosh said.
"Initially Rs 68 crores has been earmarked by the State Government for infrastructural development of the area," the minister said.
