Sensex maintains the positive trend, opens up by 15 pts

Mumbai, June 26 (UNI) BSE Sensex today opened in the green by 15 points at 10,427.85 compared to the previous close of 10,412 on Sunday.

However, the volatility in the market led the market to tilt downwards and is currently trading at 10,326.56 down by 78 points from Sunday close.

The steel counter has progressed well since morning on the news of Mittal-Arcelor deal coming through.

Tata Steel, Ispat, SAIL and TISCO were all up between 1.5 to 5.5 per cent.

Other gainers on the index were - Tata Motors, TCS, Maruti Udyog, L&T, ITC, Hindalco, Dr Reddy's Lab, Cipla, and Bharti Airtel, all up between one per cent to 2.69 per cent.

Besides, the losers on the sensitive index were - HDFC, Reliance Energy, Reliance Industries, SBI and Wipro, all up between 0.5 to 2.65 per cent.
