Select metal prices down on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, June 26 (UNI) Select metal prices declined on poor industrial demand, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.

In ferrous section ; copper heavy and brass cuttings eased by Rs 200 and Rs 500 per quintal respectivley on sustained heavy selling pressure. But aluminium utensils rose by Rs 200 per quintal on reduced stock supply.

In non-ferrous section, zinc slab drifted lower by Rs 200 per quintal on increase offers by stockist.

Nickel cathode went down by Rs five per kg on thin buying support.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 32,800, copper utensils - Rs 26,000, brass utensils - Rs 19,000, brass cuttings - Rs 22,500, aluminium utensils - Rs 10,000.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 36,800, aluminium ingots - Rs 12,900, zinc slab - Rs 16,400, lead ingots - Rs 5,800, tin slab - Rs 455 (per kg), nickel cathode - Rs 1,060 (per kg).
