Sahrunissa to surrender in the court tomorrow
Mumbai, June 26 (UNI) Ms Sahrunissa, mother of prime witness and perjury accused Zahira Sheikh in best bakery case of Gujarat, will surrender in Mazgaon session court as her bail period expired today in perjury case.
Advocate Umesh Deshpande, representing Zahira and family members in perjury case told UNI here today that Sahrunissa will surrender before Additional Session Court Judge Abhay Thipsay tomorrow morning as her bail period is expiring today.
Mr Deshpande, however, said ''as soon as she surrenders in the court, we will file an application praying for extention of bail period for eight-days to enable them to move an appeal in Bombay High Court.'' He said ''we are going to challenge order of the sessions court convicting Zahira and family members to for three months Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) for giving false evidence during re-trial of the case here.
Talking about Nasibullah, younger brother of Zahira, Mr Deshpande said on Wednesday the Government probationary officer is likely to submit the report pertaining to his ''nature and behaviour,'' thereafter the court will pass an appropriate order, he added.
