Sacked NZ envoy returns, faces show case notice
New Delhi, Jun 26 (UNI) The sacked Indian High Commissioner to New Zealand, Harish Dogra, has returned here and has been served a show cause notice by the government, sources said here today.
Mr Dogra, who returned here last week, was removed as High Commissioner following his defiance of the recall order served on him earlier.
He had accused Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran of spoiling India's image ''in this part of the world'' and said that he would not work under Mr Saran.
In March, Mr Dogra had gone public and spoken to the media about the recall letter that was sent to him. He was recalled following certain allegations against him.
The government subsequently withdrew his accreditation and asked him to return.
He handed over charge to his Deputy and went on leave.
After his refusal to return, the government revoked his and his wife's passports.
