Rupee weakens by 26 paise, closes at Rs 46.38/40/US Dollar

Mumbai, June 26: Indian currency today lost ground against the US Dollar as the Rupee touched a low of 46.38/40 against the dollar compared to the previous close of 46.12/13/USD on Friday, said a exchange market trader.

Earlier, the Indian currency opened at 46.18/20/ USD, down by six paise from the previous close of Rs 46.12/13 per USD.

RBI fixed the Reference Rate at Rs 46.34 per USD today.

Rupee also fared well against other currencies: Rupee vs sterling was at Rs 84.42, Rupee vs Euro was at 58.29 and Rupee vs Yen was at Rs 39.86.
