Radhika Kulkarni tops SSC merit in Kolhapur div
Kolhapur, June 26 (UNI) Radhika Ramchandra Kulkarni of Private Highschool topped the merit list and also among the girl students with 95.33 per cent marks in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination in Kolhapur division board.
Samiksha Annaso Farakate of Shivaji Memorial High School Kankavli of Sindhudurg district and Virendra Prakash Patil of Rayat Sansath's Yashwant highschool Karad, in Satara district stood second and third with 95.20 and 95.08 per cent marks, respectively.
Amita Mallappa Metkari of N S P Walawalkar Prashala, stood fourth in merit list with 94.93 per cent marks also stood first in backward class students category, Kolhapur divisional board chairman M R Kadam said.
Detailing the results to reporters here today Mr Kadam said that a total 1,67,484 students registered their names for SSC examination conducted by Maharashtra State Secondary and Higher Secondary Kolhapur divisional board in march 2006, out of which 1,65,787 appeared and 1,18,307 students passed with 71.36 passing percent of Kolhapur board.
In the year 2005 division board passing per cent was 61.55 per cent, which increased by 9.81 per cent this year, he said and added in Kolhapur divisional board Ratnagiri district topped with 76.33 passing percentage, followed by Sindhudurg 75.31 per cent, Kolhapur district 74.90 per cent, Satara 67.94 and Sangli 66.43 per cent.
