Hyderabad, June 26 (UNI) Princess Manolya Onur, former Miss Turkey and third wife of the eighth Nizam of Hyderabad, Nawab Bahadur Mukarram Jah, today won a legal battle against him for payment of maintenance to her and their 15-year-old daughter Niloufer. A family court here issued a decree of divorce settlement and directed that Manolya would receive 700,000 dollars towards Mehr (alimony).

Mukkaram Jah, who now lives in Turkey, will have to pay 15,000 dollars per month towards maintenance of Manolya and Niloufer and towards rent in lieu of residential accommodation, as per the decree. Mukkaram Jah married Manolya in 1989 and they lived at Chiran Fort Palace here for sometime. Then, Mukarram was 58 years old, while Manolya was 36. After divorcing her, the Nizam married a 22 year-old Moroccan girl and now lives at a seaside resort in Turkey, while Manolya is in Istanbul with her daughter. She has been pursuing her alimony case since 1996.

The maintenance is payable from February 1996, when Manolya filed the suit. She will also be paid 28,000 dollars towards arrears of rent payable by the Nizam. The Nizam also has to pay interest from then.

Apart from this, Mukkaram Jah, who owns a string of palaces in the city, will have to pay 300,000 dollars with interest from February 10, 1995, towards the loan he had taken from Manolya.

For recovery of the money as per the divorce settlement, the Palaces of Nizam Chiran Fort, Chowmohalla and Falaknuma in the city and Cedar Palace in Ooty have been charged (which means they cannot be sold to anyone), the Court directed.
