Nitesh released on bail

Mumbai, June 26 (UNI) Nitesh, son of Maharashtra Revenue Minister Narayan Rane, who was booked for rash driving after his car hit a police personnel at Carter road, Khar, in western suburbs last night, was released on bail of Rs 3000 this morning.

The Khar police said here today that the incident occurred at around 2120 hrs yesterday when police havaldar Mahadeo Jadhav, on his way to home, was hit by Nitesh's car in which he had suffered minor injury.

Nitesh was booked under section 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life), the police added.

Meanwhile, reacting to the incident, Mr Rane said the driver of the car was driving it, not his son and injury sustained by Mr Jadhav was minor.
