Naxals kill Congress leader
Dantewada, Jun 26 (UNI) Naxals gunned down former Congress leader and block panchayat member Lalit Markam for his association with the anti-naxalite 'Salwa Judum' campaign at Dudhiram village in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district.
About 25 naxals barged into Lalit's house last night and took him and his younger brother Govind along. Later, Lalit was gunned down. However, Govind was set free.
Lalit was a supporter of Opposition Leader Mahendra Karma.
Prior to the Congress, he was a member of the CPI.
