Most places in Kerala get heavy rains

Thiruvananthapuram, June 26 (UNI) Rains occurred at most places in Kerala and at a few places in Lakshwadeep, with the northern districts receiving more showers.

The local Met office here said the highest rainfall of seven cm was recorded at Kannur, followed by Thalassery five cm.

Pattambi, Chalakudi and Changanassery received rainfall of four cm each.

Irikkur, Kozikode, Koilandi, Vadakara, Alathur, Kochi and Alwaye got three cm rains, it said.

The met office also warned of isolated heavy to very high rains in Kerala and Lakshwadeep in the next 24 hrs.

It also said that strong onshore winds from the westerly direction at a speed of 45-55 kmph will lash on and off Kerala coast and Lakshwadeep.
