Meghalaya observed international day against drugs abuse

Shillong, June 26 (UNI) Drug problem has become truly transnational in character and afflict almost all region and countries, Meghalaya State AIDS Control Society project director Dr Ryngksai said today.

Observing the international day against Drugs abuse and illicit trafficking on the theme ''Drugs: Not a Child Play'', organized by the Meghalaya Forum on AIDS and Drugs, Dr Ryngksai said the community as a whole should fight drug abuse and help those who have fallen in this social disease.

The project director said that drug abuse has increased in Meghalaya and urged upon the youth, NGOs, Church leaders to eradicate this menace from the society.
