MCD announces measures to check dengue
New Delhi, June 26 (UNI) The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today announced several measures for prevention and control of dengue before the onset of the monsoons.
In the wake of the detection of Aedes a egypty in various localities across the capital, a high-level meeting, with MCD Standing Committee Chairman Jai Kishan Sharma in the chair, decided to create awareness among public to initiate measures to prevent breeding of mosquitoes.
Door-to-door survey's will be conducted to check mosquitoe breeding.
It also decided to procure insecticides, spray material and necessary medicines for treatment of dengue and make special arrangements in municipal health institutions for its detection and treatment.
The Corporation will also screen film relating to dengue on television as well as slots on radio FM and advertisements in newspapers.
The MCD has also setup control rooms in all the 12 zonal offices as well as Town Hall headquarters which will start functioning from tomorrow to meet any eventuality arising from the monsoon rains.
