Lightning kills 5 in UP

Lucknow, June 26 (UNI) At least five people including two women were killed and three others injured when lightning struck them at separate places following rainfall in the last 24 hrs in Uttar Pradesh.

Police today said Chakkar (45) of village Sasi, Ramkora (60) of Bagah village and Bablu (12) of Chainpurwa village died in separate incidents in Hardoi district.

Three others were also burnt in lightning.

Another report from Mahoba said two people identified as Pannalal of Mahobkanth area and Mukesh Kumar of Panwadi area lost their lives due to lightning.

Pannalal's neice Sarita sustained burns in the incident and was taken to hospital.
