Jaitley criticises Punjab govt's deal with Reliance
Jalandhar, Jun 26 (UNI) Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) General Secretary and former Union Minister Arun Jaitley today criticised the Punjab government for providing land to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on subsidised rate for settting up agro marketing and processing project.
Talking to reporters here he said that the top corporate house of the country was not in need of subsidy or concession. He said that if the government provide subsidies to the poor farmers and not the rich industrialists and coporates.
Mr Jaitley was here to participate in the Emergency Day conference held jointly by BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) to highlight excesses committed during the emergency imposed by the then Indira Gandhi Government on this day 31 years ago.
Besides Mr Jaitley, SAD president and former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, BJP state president Avinash Rai Khanna and MP Navjot Singh Sidhu also participated in the conference.
