LONDON, June 26 (Reuters) Canadian pop star Nelly Furtado held on to the top spot in the U.K. singles charts with ''Maneater'', the Official UK Charts Company has said.

Furtado beat off competition from Colombian singer Shakira with ''Hips Don't Lie'' to secure a third week at No. 1.

Scottish singer Sandi Thom slipped one spot to three with ''I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker'', while English rockers Muse made a new entry into the Top 10 with ''Supermassive Black Hole'' at four.

A new version of ''Mas Que Nada'' by Brazil's Sergio Mendes, featuring the Black Eyed Peas, was another new entry at six, just behind ''Monster'' by Welsh band Automatic.

''Valerie'' by Liverpool indie band the Zutons debuted at number nine, while Infernal's ''From Paris to Berlin'' and the Lostprophets' ''Rooftops'' were at seven and eight respectively.

U.S. star Pink completed the Top 10 with ''Who Knew'', down three spots.

In the album charts, Keane retained their dominance with ''Under The Iron Sea'', defying debut challenges from Fatboy Slim's greatest hits collection ''Why Try Harder'' at two and Automatic's ''Not Accepted Anywhere'''' at three.

Furtado's album ''Loose'' lost ground, dropping to nine from five last week.
