Fresh batch of 1404 pilgrims leave for Amarnath
Jammu, June 24 (UNI) A fresh batch of 1404 pilgrims left today for the holy pilgrimage to Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir amid tight security.
The group, which left from the base camp at the stadium here, included 867 men, 343 women, 53 children and 141 sadhus, officials said.
Despite threats and attacks from terrorist outfits, a large number of pilgrims are leaving for the "darshan" of the ice lingam of lord Shiva at the holy cave.
The pilgrims left in a fleet of 44 vehicles, 29 buses, 14 light motor vehicles and one truck from the stadium at 0500 hrs today.
