Forward Bloc MP criticises the Centre for ignoring Mukherjee Commiss

Agartala, June 26 (UNI) ''The Government of India is trying to mislead the nation for the past 60 years by concealing the truth about the mysterious death of Netaji,'' Foward Bloc MP from West Bengal and nephew of the freedom fighter Subrata Bose here said.

Speaking at the Press Club here in a civic reception last night, Mr Bose criticised the Government for rejecting the Mukherjee Commission report, which was set up to look into the mysterious death of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.

''We will rock the Parliament in the coming session on this issue.

We need a clear picture on Netaji's death,'' said the veteran leader.

He also questioned the Central Government's sincerity on the issue.

''When a Commission is set up, the Government needs to place the report. But the Congress led UPA Government is not willing to accept the Mukherjee Commission report. It is ridiculous,'' said Mr Bose.

He alleged that the Nehru Government destroyed some important files related to Netaji's whereabouts in 1956.

Mr Bose firmly believes that Netaji did not die in the so called Taihuku plane crash as was propagated by the Central Government till date. ''The Taiwan Government had already rejected the Indian Government's theory related to Netaji's death saying that no plane crash took place in the country during August 15-25 as stated by the Centre,'' said Mr Bose.

When asked about the ashes that were kept preserved at the Renkouji temple, Mr Bose said that Justice Mukherjee found out the ashes belonged to a Japanese soldier named Ichiro Okura who died of a heart ailment on August 19, 1945 in the Taiwan Hospital. He said the Justice Mukherjee's report has enough evidence to prove that Netaji reached Russia safely.

''Some Central Ministers are playing politics regarding Netaji's death,'' alleged Mr Bose. He also said the truth behind the mysterious death of Netaji may be unveiled only in 2020.
