Entry visa to Qatar only on production of medical certificates

Dubai, June 26 (UNi) Workers from India and other countries coming to Qatar will be given entry visa only after they produce a medical certificates from certified health centres in their respective countries.

''In order to end the exploitation of workers which has become endemic, manpower agencies have been given six months to fall in line with the new directives,'' a report in Arabic Al Watan newspaper said.

It said manpower and recruitment agencies should have a permanent location and only deal in recruitment and not in any other business.

The agencies have been told that a copy of the contract signed by the official of the company should be given to the worker on arrival.

The contract should detail the nature of work, whether it is limited or unlimited, the notice period to be given should a worker wish to quit and any other conditions, the daily added.
