Bhim Singh issues rejoinder to Musharraf on demilitarisation

Jammu, June 26 (UNI) Prof Bhim Singh, Member of the National Integration Council (NIC) has issued a rejoinder to Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf to debate his thesis on his Kashmir resolution for demilitarisation and self-governance from any public platform may it be in Islamabad, Delhi, Srinagar or Muzaffrabad to let the people of the sub-continent pass the judgement on his resolution.

In a statement, Prof Singh has qustioned the legitimacy of his resolution on the ground that Jammu and Kashmir enjoys unique self-rule of self governance in India as Jammu amd Kahmir is the only state which enjoys absolute legislative power to make laws on the concurrent list also. No other state in India enjoys this special privilege in the union, he added.

Prof Bhim had during his encounter with Gen Musharraf in March this year, enquired from the Army Ruler if he could grant same amount of self governance to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) that has been granted by India to J&K. Gen Musharraf has yet to answer that question before he projects his thesis of undefined self-governance.

He said, PoK is controlled by Pakistan directly through special advisor and it has no legislative or administrative control. The council is also controlled by the government of Pakistan, he added.

Prof Bhim Singh has invited the General or anybody on his behalf to debate this issue from any platform. He has also thrown a challenge to the ''undeclared Ambassadors of Musharraf within or without the J&K coalition government to join the debate with him from any platform whatsoever.'' ''They should come out of the government and then advocate for General to prove their loyality to Army Ruler,'' he said.

On demilitrisation, he reminded Gen Musharraf that the Indian army was invited to Kashmir on October 26, 1947 by the people of state only when Pak sponsored armed infiltrators started raping the women, putting property on fire and threatening the very existence of the Kashmiris.

Prof Singh said if the General is sincere to his resolution for demilitarisation should immediately withdraw Pak army from entire territory of J&K namely PoK and Gilgit which stands occupied by Pakistan in violation of UN Resolution in which Islamabad was directed to withdraw his armies and civilian settlers from all the territories of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the General has every opportunity to prove his honesty and commitment to peace by ordering immediate retreat from Jammu and Kashmir.

Prof Bhim Singh said that dozen of innocent people are being killed or assassinated by the Pak-sponsored terrorists in J&K including the innocent tourists and children insspite of the presence of the security forces. The foreign sponsored terrorists shall destroy the entire Kashmir race if there were no presence of the Army in Kashmir, he added.
