APTDC to operate package tours to Guntur District

Vijayawada, Jun 26 : The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) will be operating day-long package tours to various tourism spots in Guntur District.

An APTDC spokesman told UNI here the tour would cover Kanaka Durga Temple, Vundavalli Caves, Mangalagiri Pankala Swami Temple,Amaravathi Siva Temple, Amaravati Stupam, the bird sanctuary at Uppalapadu and Manasa Sarovar.

Studies by APTDC showed a large number of pilgrims visiting the famed Kanaka Durga Temple could partronise the tours.

The corporation will consider pressing more buses into service depending on the response for the package. At present it operated only a single bus.

APTDC Divisional Manager K Venkateswara Rao said 20 per cent discount would be provided for group bookings by students and 10 per cent by families.

The trips would benefit the pilgrims in a big way as they covered all the important places in and around Vijayawada in a day, he added.
