Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh, June 26 (UNI) About 25 impersonators were caught taking examination in place of other candidates from three centres in this district during the Pre-Medical Test (PMT) yesterday organised by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB), official sources said today.

The impersonators -- who hailed from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar -- were caught while writing Biology paper during afternoon shift at the Maharaja College, Higher Secondary School serial no 1 and Higher Secondary School serial no 2, sources said.

MPPEB invigilitator and Kanya Vidyalaya Assistant Principal B K Tiwari caught an examinee when his face did not match with the original candidate.

On interrogation, he revealed that he had come along with four people from Kanpur.

An intensive search was carried out and about 25 impersonators caught. However, some others managed to escape.

Most impersonators were caught as their face did not match the photograph on the admit card, while others were caught because they could not explain their identities.

Though some students were let off after interrogation or after their identities were established, some admitted to writing examination for other candidates.
