We have given more seats to women claims Congress

Vijayawada, June 25 (UNI) The Congress today claimed that it had given due importance to women in the ensuing local body elections by giving more seats to them.

Addressing a press conference here, Andhra Pradesh Mahila Congress Chief Ganga Bhavani said the party issued tickets to more than 33 per cent women as it was committed to their development in the state.

She said the Congress would sweep the local body polls following the successful implementation of welfare schemes by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

The government provided free power and loans at 25 paise interest rate to uplift the farmers in the state, she added.
