Two killed, cash and jewellery looted

Kanpur, June 25 (UNI) Two people were killed and four injured when a dozen of criminals broke into a house in New Azad Nagar area of Kanpur city today and attacked its family members.

The criminals later decamped with cash and jewellery worth several thousands.

Police spokesman said more than half-a-dozen criminals equipped with 'lathis' and rods attacked the house of Kanchan Shukla and started beating the family members.

Later, they decamped with cash worth Rs 10,000 and jewellery valued at several thousands from other members of the family.

While all the six people, who had sustained injuries, were rushed to the hospital, Ashok Sharma (22) and Mahesh Sharma (22) later succumbed to their injuries, the spokesman said.

Police has launched a search operation to nab the criminals.
