Tourism resort inaugurated at Kharapathar
Shimla, June 25 (UNI) With the opening of a tourism resort at Kharapathar in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh (HP) today, the number of hotels and resorts being run by the HP Tourism Development Corporation at different places in the state has risen to 53, official sources said today.
The resort has been constructed at a scenic spot on a land measuring over two bighas and has 14 double rooms, restaurant-cum-bar and staff quarters.
The sources said the total cost incurred on the construction of this resort was Rs 1.60 crore.
''With the construction of this resort, the long pending demand of the people of Jubbal and Kothkhai and Rohru area has been fulfilled besides providing a take-off point for tourist visiting the religious shrine of Giri Ganga at Kuppar, which at a later date would also be developed as the Ski Resort,'' the sources added.
The resort would also facilitate the tourists visiting the famous temple of Hateshwariji at Hatkoti, besides Jubbal, Chirgaon and Rohru areas, the sources said.
The sources added the move was aimed at creating new tourism destinations in various parts of the state.
