TN CM to commission Chennai-Tchy-Madurai Pipeline tomorrow

Chennai, June 25 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, will dedicate to the nation tomorrow, the Indian Oil's 'Chennai-Tiruchy- Madurai Pipeline' the company's longest petroleum products pipeline in a single state.

Mr Karunanidhi would dedicate to the nation, the 683-km long Pipeline, Indian Oil's first in South India, at a function to be held at Kamarajar Arangam here tomorrow morning.

The function would be presided over by Mr Murli Deora, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas. Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram would be the chief guest.

The commissioning of the pipeline, takes Indian Oil, the country's largest commercial enterprise, another step towards realising its vision of emerging as an integrated transnational energy major.

''The 683-Km long pipeline, covering 11 districts in the state, is Indian Oil's longest petroleum products pipeline in a single state,'' a company note here said.

The state-of-the-art pipeline would ensure uninterrupted and reliable supply of diesel, kerosene and petrol in the safest, environment-friendly and economical mode to the major consumption centres of the state.
