SW monsoon active in Karnataka and Kerala

Pune, June 25 (UNI) Further advance of southwest monsoon is expected as the conditions are favourable in parts of Gujarat, some parts of Rajasthan, some parts of Madhya Pradesh, remaining parts of Chattisgarh and some parts of east Uttar Pradesh in the next 48 hrs.

The southwest monsoon has been active in coastal Karnataka and Kerala.

Heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of west Rajasthan.

In Jammu and Kashmir, some parts of west Madhya Pradesh and in remaining parts of west Rajasthan where the monsoon is yet to set day temperatures were appreciably normal.

They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy to very heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan and Goa, coastal Karnataka and Kerala. Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Gujarat, and most places in Andman and Nicobar Islands and Lakshadweep.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and coastal Andhra Pradesh and at few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Bihar, east Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Telangana, Rayalseema and interior Karnataka and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occured at most places in Sub- Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. Heavy rains have occured at most places in coastal Karnataka and Kerala and many places in west Madhya pradesh. Very light rains have occured at isolated places in Uttaranchal, west Rajasthtan, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
