Gleneagles, June 25 (UNI) A poor front-nine cost him dearly as Jyoti Randhawa carded a below par one-over 74 to slip to the tied 37th spot after the penultimate round of the Johnnie Walker Championship here.

The Indian, who will be next seen in action at The Open Championship at the Royal Liverpool, has a three-day total of two-under 217.

Randhawa started off with a bogey on the first and dropped two more shots on the seventh and ninth in a disappointing front-nine, which left him three-over at the halfway mark.

His backward journey was better as Randhawa arrested the slide by gaining two shots on the 10th and 12th but a bogey on the 13th pulled him back. He played a few level-par shots before signing off with a birdie on the last hole.

Meanwhile, at the top Brit Paul Casey had a superb round of 66 to overtake overnight leader Colin Montgomerie (69) of Scotland. The Englishman with a three-day total of 15-under 204 is poised to win the title after gaining a one shot lead over the Scot.
