Prosecution likely to file chargesheet on June 28
Mumbai, June 25 (UNI) The prosecution is likely to file the chargesheet against Pravin Mahajan, who was arrested on charges of murder of his elder brother and BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan.
Pramod was shot at on April 22, this year and died after a 13-day battle for life.
Initially, Pravind was booked under attempt to murder. However, after the death of Pramod, he was booked under section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
He will be produced the in Magistrate's court on Wednesday for the extention of remand, and on that day only, the police is likely to file chargesheet against him.
Advocate Nandkumar Rajurkar, representing Pravin, said they are going to challenge the magistrate's order, rejecting his their plea for psychiatric tests and supervision of the probe.
The magistrate had rejected the plea of the accused on June 14, seeking permission to undergo psychiatric tests to ascertain his mental state when he had allegedly killed his elder brother.
